Cole Kelley

Cole Kelley is 6 year old battling Diamond Blackfan Anemia.  Efforts are currently underway to find him a bone marrow match. Cole will then travel to get a bone marrow transplant. His family will be away from work and home and we want to help make this difficult time in their lives a little easier.

All donations are tax deductible and will go to help with traveling, medical, and living expenses.

6 Years Old

Kindergarten at Mars Hill Bible School

My name is Cole Kelley. I am 6 years old and in Kindergarten at Mars Hill Bible School. I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder when I was 2 months old, called Diamond Blackfan Anemia. My body does not make red blood cells, the ones that carry oxygen. I have had over 100 blood transfusions at St Jude. Last year my immune system got really bad and they found out I have DADA2.  This is a gene mutation that can cause many different problems. It can cause strokes, immune problems, organ failure, and growth problems.

I get a shot 5 times a week to help me not get sick, and help my immune system work. I also get a 12 hour infusion every night to get the iron out from the transfusions. It stinks, but I know I have to do it. I am going to have to have a bone marrow transplant this summer because my bone marrow is so sick and it is not working properly.

I need the perfect donor for my body to accept those transplanted cells and to make me well. Please consider registering to be  a bone marrow donor and possibly help me be cured!
